LET'S FLY

By Leah C Dancel

LET'S FLY

Let me fly to you
Over the seas, high and wide;
Over the mountains
And down to the vast green plains.

I dash through the skies
Riding the clouds at daylight
Sometimes in dark night.
E'en though the world gets dreary.

Let's fly to the heights
And see the winding rivers
They ne'er rest on land
They run to meet the ocean.

The wind will speed us
The breeze will keep us afloat;
Like oars of the boat,
Let's traverse this life together.

WEAKEST LINK

By Leah C Dancel

WEAKEST LINK

Another new world order came.
It came when things just settled down,
Down to the norms when people blame;
They blame the weakest link on earth...

Doers of all the wicked things
Things they deviced against humans
And humans succumb to their will
The will against humanity.

Woe to those who think of doing,
Doing evils against all men
Men who bow to all their demands
Demands to annihilate them

From this earth where evils abound
Abound with lawlessness aground
The law is them, higher than God
The God who made heaven and earth.

"The earth is the Lord" where man lives
Lives not, ruled by new world order.

White Camellia

In
dashing
silky garb,
a fairy came.
White Camellia sings
a sacred hymn

My

her beauty:
Immaculate,
pristine, elegant -
regal bearing
blossom fair;
Mystic

What Is There in Age

By Maria Theresa Causapin

Many of my well wishers often ask me- how old are you?
I tell them how can I answer
This insane question?!😁
When I play with a little child
I am one year old.
When I watch cartoons
I'm three.
When I dance to the tune of music, I am sweet sixteen.
I'm sure I’ve crossed six decades of my life span.
Or run after my dog and his ball,
I become their age.

What is there in age?
Isn't it a number only?
Like the light of the sun
And the flowing river waters
I am ageless.
I keep changing with time and the experience.

Days are marching towards night
No doubt,
Whenever it extends its hand
I shall hold it.

Till then It’s not my age that matters.
How fully have I lived thus far,
That is the consideration.

GRANDMA's BUNDLE of JOY

By Leah C Dancel

 GRANDMA's BUNDLE of JOY

How lovely to see your tiny dainty frame
It's heavenly divine that caught me fine
With crying eyes so close to mine
The sweetest sound a newborn baby on my mind.

You're a blessing to me from heaven's sent
A gift so precious I long to hold
My heart is filled with so much love
You're my angel that brings music to my life.

Your mesmerising smiles are views to delight
Your cries are like trumpet that sounds in the sky
For now, sweet darling enjoy plenty of snugs,
Tender kisses and hugs
In Grandma's loving arms.

INDAY TOOTZIE: IN CEBU

By Tita Dadivas

INDAY TOOTZIE: IN CEBU

We remember -
Your smile that makes our hearts happy
Your laughter that reverberates in our souls
Your eyes that speak of kindness
Your voice that sounds like of an Angel
That we long to hear through the years
We want to let you know how much
We have missed you.

In retrospect -
There's no day passed
that we don't think about you
Lia and I have been wondering
where you are
In this part of the world
Now that we found you
Shall we make the world
smaller?

Remember Cebu City
Jones Avenue,
where you and Lia dwelt.
Remember DYRF
Where you and I met.

We hope you still remember
Our threesome together
Though I was one odd out.
We love you Inday Tootzie
We remain as we are!

Your forever Friends
 with Love and longings

LIFE'S UNFAIR

By Leah C Dancel

LIFE'S UNFAIR
(Constrictive Verses)

I'll take your flaws
Without question
Without judgement
Will you embrace
My imperfections?

I'll take your faults
If being poor
is kind of fault.
Will my riches
Intimidate you?

Life is not fair
But man created
Equal? Cliche?
Social gaffe?
What baloney!

Poles, time apart
Days, nights, differ
Sleeping, waking
Are tangled knots:
A nightmare's rope.

Imagine life:
Social distance
Being measured
By what you have
And not you love.

Life isn't fair,
Unjustified.
What if we die?
Will you and I
Matter in God's -

Heavenly eyes?
What of our dust?
And remnant bones?
On His Day, He'll
Blow them away!

If.

Look but do you see.

The most extraordinary beauty.
The care and attention.
The time.

It’s all to easy to pass these moments by.

But, why.

We look but do we see.

This rose, takes skill.
This rose, takes time.
This rose, to really appciate it you have to look.

But, it’s not easy.

You can all to easily just swipe past it.

But, on this occasion don’t.

Think about the care, craftsmanship, attention to detail, skill.

Pause for just a moment.

Because the moment will pass.

CHALLENGE ACCEPTED

This is a poetry challenge. Every day to post one short poem for seven days.

1st Day
-------------------------------

I Am Who I Am

I used to fight
Even though I am nobody
I wanna give it a shot
Tho' my faith's buried in ashes.

In a world filled with darkness
I learn to embrace my fears
Walk the maze of unknown trails
Paths that are full of tricks.

Destiny broke my wings
I am who I am
I go forward bit by bit
I abandoned myself.

I wanna give it a try
Even tears hide in my eyes
With  only  little hope inside
I soar to glimpse the sky.

I am who I am
Who blooms from the dust
Flying without wings
Trying to find my destined dreams.

I have a long way to go
I know our God will bless me too.

C O F F E E

C O F F E E
(Dedicated to Coffee Addicts)

The jug's loudest scream
Letting off its steam;
Wanting to be free
Feeling claustrophobic
Inside the prison cell.

Boiling and neglected
since early morning -
before daylight.

A black ground coffee
Patiently awaits - till
A pouring spout of steaming
Water in the pot, gently
Filling in the cup, just enough.

Throw in a sugar lump and stir.
Let the storm settles down a bit;
Slowly add the virgin creamy milk
Into the cup, steaming hot!

How uplifting this vibrant aroma
Sweetly wafting in the breeze;
So rich and strong, the humble roast can sate a crave.

To all coffee connoisseur
Please give me a break;
Let me breathe through
Your nostrils pathway sage.

WRITTEN IN THE SKY

By Leah C Dancel

Photo extracted from LayMan/You Tube

WRITTEN IN THE SKY

There's magic in the sky,
I heard.
I missed that special moment,
They said.
I turned away to seek for warmth;
When they let loose hundreds
of drones to light the ebony sky!

Tiny dotted fonts in colours streamed:
It's "WRITTEN IN THE STARS".

The twinkling orbits did their rounds.
Oohhhs and aahhs in awe,
people gasped.
The galaxy of thousands stars
Had the crowd mesmerised;
By their spectacular neon show
Coming downon earth!

Tonight is the night,
I heard.
Never miss a chance,
They said.
For years I've lived
I've never seen, such
Extravaganza of lights,
Escaping into the sky
With a thousand eyes!

Sing Us A Love Song

By Hedda Tady

Sing Us a Love Song

Words would never be enough
To say things I’d want to say
Time I have
Is never enough
For this story has too many twists and turns
Suffice it to say
There’s more to the girl
Than what the world is willing
Like a rock, to overturn.

Maybe in the distance
In a future we may never see
You’d listen to a song
You’d have time to write a melody
And we’d sing it under the moon.

Memories of a love long ago
Sweet, as they all were at the start
‘Till it was time to go
He asked why, oh why
Cried a river
Didn’t wanna let go.

He’d never know
Though I tried to tell him so
You can never give a girl back
Once gone
That which she just wishes to give to one man.

Love the self
The one thing a soul yearns to keep
Until a gift it becomes
Until a union to last forever
Stands in front unlike castles
In the sand.

Maybe in the distance
In a future we may never see
You’d listen to a song
You’d write me a melody…

When the moon goes dark
Sing me a love song
For me to keep, to hold
In all of eternity.

Then leave
Walk away and never come back
Love songs and sad melodies
Have no room in a heart
That’s trying to heal.

Heal all the wounds the world left
In a soul that trusts in forevers
In a heart that’s scarred
Yet refuses to believe
That all of life is mere castles in the sand.

Before you go
Sing us a love song.

WINTER SOLSTICE

Winter Solstice
Shortest day
Cold and dreary
Numb my soul
Wary and weary

Dark night
Many stars
Crown the heavens
With glorious light
Shining bright.

Hear the nightbird
Singing elegiac
Homage in doleful tune
A bird's lullaby.
Sleep in peace.

Feel the warmth
Of the angels
As they watch over you.
The long night is over:
A new born day comes!

BE LIKE AN OAK TREE

By Leah C Dancel

 Photos of credit to:

BE LIKE AN OAK TREE

As strong as the sturdy oak tree,
I stood against all elements of weather
Defying some of Mother Nature's cruelty
And gruesome forces of humans' vanity.

Her acts were too daunting
to my feebled defence;
She crinkled me in bewilderment;
Trying to disavow me with sadness.
I just stood back unflinched.

Though the sun could be harsh sometimes;
It gives me strength to get on with life
It helps me to develop courage
Then I grow wiser and stronger.

Be like an oak tree when strong winds come
And be still in the midst of storms that threaten.
Your peace will hold you  in your safe haven
For someone above covers you under His wings.

IRENE: SHE CALLS ME MOTHER

SHE CALLS ME MOTHER
(To Irene M Allard)

She's not my daughter
But she calls me Mother.
She's not my flesh and blood
Yet, she cares for me like I'm her own.

She looks up to me with reverence
And understands my shortcomings.
She treats me as equal as
her folks whom she adored.

True to her name, she's irenic in disposition
Complimented with grace
Her beauty matches her integrity;
A loving person, creative and resourceful.

We run on variant genes
With gaps wide apart;
A baby boomer and a millennial
Having meeting of minds.

Grateful for her resplendent soul;
A no nonsense taker - for
She means what she says
And says what she means.

I'm proud to be her Mother
As she is proud of me.
The finest person I've ever met
On the course of her journey,
And lifetime adventure.

LONG BLESSED LIFE

By Leah C Dancel

LONG BLESSED LIFE
(Birthday dedication to My Dear Friend)

Nene, my sweet friend, for years stay the same;
A person worth knowing as time goes by.
Though the path we're treading has different names;
We journey on under the same blue sky.

Calm and collected, her thoughts assuring:
Non discriminating; non judgmental.
Always thoughtful, ever kind and caring:
Life's comfort made pleasant with wherewithal.

A sentient mentor and motivator
To friends and family whom she nurtures
With love and faith for her benefactors
Deep in her heart, to whom all she treasures.

Today is another year you deserve;
Long live Nene for you are blessed to serve!

NOT ONE IS LOST

By Leah C Dancel

"Sheep without a shepherd. But no one is lost." ~Leah C. Dancel

Rural countryside between Bathurst and Orange

Travelling via XPT Dubbo

NOT ONE IS LOST
(John 10:27)

Out in the farm,
Out in the paddock,
The sheep are unleashed
Roaming freely
Fending on their own
Foraging on grasses.
They scatter in distance,
Sometimes in herd.
They go in line one by one
when the trail is narrow
And  two or three in a row
when the trail is wider.
There's no shepherd
To watch their backs.
They just go about
Their business as usual.

At the end of the day
The old good farmer came
To do the rounds.
He called them by name
Which sounds somewhat the same
And they all came near him
One by one.
Two by two.
Three by three
On single file
Two and three.

The Shepherd Dog came along;
In its instructive barking
As In-charge of the task.
Was he counting the sheep
To see if there's any loss?

The dog ran around
Behind the herd
All listened to his voice
and followed his prompt.

The leader of the pack walked out of the gated paddock;
Onto the ramp of the back truck,
He marched -
One by one, each sheep followed
Till the last made the final count.

The sheep without a shepherd
Fends on their own
Out in the open paddock
And NO one is lost.

Happy Father's Day

By Wilfred Ntui

Happy Father's Day

In honor of the fathers, strong and true, This heartfelt verse I pen for you.
On this special day, we gather near,
To celebrate your love, so dear.

A father's love, a beacon bright,
Guiding us through both day and night.
With gentle hands and words of care,
You show us how much you're always there.

You're our protector, our guiding light, Our hero shining through the darkest night.
Your wisdom, like a steady stream,
Flows through our lives, like a cherished dream.

In your arms, we find strength and peace,
A sanctuary where all worries cease.
Your laughter echoes in our souls,
Filling our lives with joy untold.

With every challenge, big or small,
You stand beside us, giving your all.
You teach us lessons that will endure,
The values that make us strong and pure.

Through every stumble, every fall, You're there to lift us, standing tall.
Your unwavering love, a constant flame,
Even when the world's not quite the same.

So on this day, we raise our voice,
To celebrate you, our father, our choice.
For all the love and sacrifices made,
We honor you, our guiding shade.

Happy Father's Day, with love we say, Thank you for being with us each step of the way.
Forever grateful, our hearts overflow,
For the father's love, we'll always know.

Proverbs 9:10
The “fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom” relates more to respect and reverence for God than actual fear in its modern definition. Fearing God is knowing God, and this is where true wisdom lies.

Who can understand prophecy unless God reveals it to anyone who is willing to listen? The signs of times as have had been told in the Book of Revelation by John are now "unfolding right on our very own eyes" (Dr. Roderick Meredith, Evangelist, LCG).

Matthew 11:15 AMP
(Amplified Bible)
He who has ears to hear, let him hear and heed My words.

"For all the Prophets and the Law prophesied until John. And if you are willing to accept it, he is the Elijah who was to come. He who has ears, let him hear. "

Verse 17 NIV
"We played the flute for you, and you did not dance; we sang a dirge, and you did not mourn."

A prisoner of blue
I call on you
Out there shining afar -
A tiny star.
Your twinkle mingles with
The moon in birth;
Carefree for all you care -
Nonchalant fare.

At twilight you appear -
like an angel:
A spark of red ember
beneath the veil
Of misty gossamer,
in cloud so pale.

I, a captive to you,
seek to follow
Your light that gleams below -
melts all my blues.

Ghazal

Tell me not his story as history, come on
For the pen can't but create mystery, come on

Raise the voice but not your choice influenced by coins
A framed notion can't be a victory, come on

Scripts ancient in volumes a narrative carries
What for then the scholars need a degree, come on

A disguised narrative of love is known to me
Rest what is written is a flattery, come on

SILENT LONGING

By Stefanie Dancel

"Silent Longing"

In moonlit sky, a lover's sight,
Her gaze fixed upon the distant light.
The moon, a reflection of love's cruel art,
Resembles the one she holds in her heart.

But fate's decree keeps them worlds apart,
A love unfulfilled, aching in her heart.
Yet in the moon's glow, she finds solace true,
Her love immortal, though they cannot pursue.

Spirited Adulthood

By Lucky

#Spirited_Adulthood

That good in the child
Clue to a rare adult life
Fears not any setback
Nor yield to own limits
Eyes beams curiously
Able to dream dreams
Past cant hold hostage
Learn lessons, move on
The world is a play field
Ventures on whats next
Temper worry carefully
Drop it before sleeping
Each day, a fresh start
Smiles so contagiouly
As if without any cares
Ageing come gracefully
Death welcomed warmly
With hope of an after life
Thus lived faithful-godly
Gains a ready kingdom
Promised to all childlike

Young and demure when we first met in Cebu
You're so endearing with smiles friendly and warm.
Your aura exuded a glowing halo
With angel's meek face you'd love to touch with palm.
We used to hang out like old neighbour's young pals;
Sharing stories from our past ancestors' gals.
Those were the days when life was simple and free
Where our hearts belong to a certain degree.

PEOPLE

Lifted from Thangjam Misna Chanu

Find people who can handle your darkest truths, who don’t change the subject when you share your pain, or try to make you feel bad for feeling bad.

Find people who understand we all struggle, some of us more than others, and that there’s no weakness in admitting it. In fact, few things take as much strength.

Find people who want to be real, however that looks and feels, and who want you to be real, too.

Find people who get that life is hard, and who get that life is also beautiful, and who aren’t afraid to honor both those realities.

Find people who help you feel more at home in your heart, mind and body, and who take joy in your joy.

Find people who love you, for real, and who accept you, for real. Just as you are. They’re out there, these people.

Your tribe is waiting for you. Don’t stop searching until you find them

Woodland Dreams

By Estelle Cortes

Woodland Dreams

One day I'll go
Up to my beloved mountains,
Go into the woods,
And get lost there.

The Trees and Animals
Will be my company,
The Moon and the Stars
Will be my lights,
I will quench my thirst
From the springs,
And bathe in the rivers and lakes.

I will sleep on the tree tops,
The hoot of owls will lull me to sleep,
I will take shelter in caves
On stormy nights
And feast on what fruits I find.

One day I'll go,
And willingly get lost
In the woods.

A weary warrior finds her dream.

BEYOND the BLUE

By Leah C Dancel

BEYOND the BLUE

I watch the sky above the atmosphere
To see the afterglow;
A prism of rainbow clouds there appears
As light subdued below.
Night is coming and bid the day adieu;
The world stands still, and, silence takes the cue.

When dawn breaks, I see the soft sunrise peers;
Transfixed into skyline -
Where reflection of my thoughts deeply steered -
A reverie incline:
How long will my journey on earth be deemed?
By what measure my destiny
redeem -

The ordeals of lost and pain;  sham and shame;
Will all these ever end?
I watch the sky beyond the blue - untamed;
Jetstream of chaos bends;
Not the mighty power of glorious divine
That gives courage and strength
whom He designed.

As the moon graces the sky, casting its tranquil glow upon her weary gaze, she finds solace and strength in its presence.

In the stillness of this moment, she prepares to embark upon a challenging week ahead, armed with unwavering determination and a steadfast heart.

With each lunar beam, she draws inspiration, knowing that within her lies the resilience to overcome any obstacle.

For beneath the moon's gentle radiance, a warrior emerges, poised to conquer, and a spirit ablaze with the fire of unwavering courage.

THE MOON

THE MOON

How fluent is the moonbeam
Speaking to me in my dream
Distance doesn't bother him
He cautions the air with grim.

That night as I was walking
I looked up the sky wond'ring
How could the moon understand
To my soliloquy's stand.

Pernicious habit aside
When ruled by the moon in stride
Sleepless nights undress my mien
Guarded and wary in vain.

But tonight the moon promised
There'd be many dreams to wish
Just hold me in your pillows
One day, I will come to you.

A MAN WITH A GIFT

By Leah C Dancel

A MAN WITH A GIFT

Behind a pious facade of a man is a lonely soul wanting to reach out for love.

His enigmatic eloquence is felt through his impulsive pen; though slow, yet, intensely  deep in fluidity of its intimate flow.

His mystic power is beyond any woman's grasp to comprehend his mind as deep as the Well of Jacob.

His Parnassian expression is reserved as of that pent up volcanic temper which is more  intimidating to an unwary -  incomprehensive mind.

Love is elusive for his sake; so full of earthful trivialities, meaningless riddles and trifles.

Perplexed as he is, his stature deconstructs his dreams.
Even if times left him feeling despondent, he shuttered not his views on life. Instead, he broadens his future vision for a promising tomorrow.

A pious man will have a special place in the heart of someone whom the heavens will bestow.
It's called Eternal Love.

THE INVISIBLE LINES !

By Sai Prakash

 THE INVISIBLE LINES

I often wonder at your calm and composure
A radiant smile you carry on your lips
No verse of your's matches your serious face
As if in penance
Looking deep into the Cosmos
Enquiring eyes

A few messages exchanged
I could see an entirely different person
Glee filled soul
Yet times naughty and bold
I wish to ask you
Who He who You
Though I know your answer
I am what I am
A mystic I

Those invisible lines that encircle you
Makes me a bit hesitant to share my feelings in toto
Any how you are a zig saw puzzle and a Sudoko
I wish to solve oneday

CLOUDS

Admin's Note:

This poem is profoundly meaningful. The author has eloquently expressed everything there is about life that expectations are not meet as we desire of them. Like clouds, we float and wander. The beauty and its ugliness depict the flow of our living as they project themselves in the sky. This is one great reflection of life: past, present and the present coming.

🌧️🌩️⛈️🌨️☁️🌦️⛅🌥️

By Jeffrey Cejero

There are nights where the moon and the stars
Are hidden by clouds just like wounds and scars.
There's nothing to see except darkness,
Nothing to feel except coldness and emptiness.

Not every sunrise opens with a hopeful blast.
There are mornings where the shades of the past
Are still trapped in clouds of shadow,
Just like a bleeding heart still pierced through by an arrow.

There are days where clouds bring storm and rain,
Where the sky cries in agonizing pain,
Where tribulations almost drowned life to death,
But still, it's able to maintain its breath.

But there won't be spectacular sunsets
Without these clouds once full of regrets.
The last rays of the sun look amazingly beautiful
All because of these clouds that make the sky wonderful.

This video means a lot to me. It's my first time that my poem is brought to life through a beautiful video and this poem actually is my most favorite I composed in 2022. I feel a very strong connection and it really catches my heart. Tumatak tlga sa puso ko ang video na to!
