At the round doorway, a gelid air greets me
With queasy feeling; darkness veils the dome.
Hollowed in eerie silence, I am awed
By this leviathan cave in the dingle.
Overgrown stalagmites are massive;
Spreading like endless unkempt grassy lawn
Above the roof, curtains are hanging down
Dripping stalactites frozen in time.
Wading carefully through the mossy ground;
Slippery wet, the rocky floor beneath
My feet hinted a running stream nearby --
Crystal clear water divinely pristine.
Midnight strikes as hours pass by unaware;
In isolation, lonely echoes dumbed.
Somewhere in the dark I espied a chamfer,
A perfect place to rest my weary bones.
Oblivion sets in, a stranger appeared.
Muted with words, only his still eyes speak.
He motioned his lips t'wards the sparkling light
Hov'ring above is the ethereal sky.
Snowflakes rained inside the mammoth cavern
Blanketing in frigidity I swear
Beside a stranded soul, that's in a dream
Waiting for the dawn in the cave, I pray.

From Jeffrey Cejero:
The poem and the artwork are both beautiful po nay. This poem is incredible. It seemed i was reading a novel describing a cave and then, the speaker revealed her emotion. There is sadness in this poem. Stay safe po nay. Just keep those memories and make it as your source of inspiration- to smile, to breathe, to enjoy every moment.... ❤️
