CLIMATE CHANGE
The dawn takes so long to stay in the sky,
being firmly snuggled by the floating clouds.
Summer sunrise wanders north,
going farther away from south.
I've been wondering,
does it augur an early autumn
and too soon?
After days of good damn rain,
we desperately needed for a hungered land,
scoured and scorched by infernal fires.
Drought worsen and parched both man and land,
starving the living, properties perishing,
and millions of animals are dead.
As hope springs eternal, not,
when skies turned its ancient wrath,
no longer tender, no gentler than wasps
grey to black, death was its cloak.
As darkness prevailed
gusty winds, violent storms
unleashed hailstones;
thunder roared and lightning struck,
waters overflowed and, floods rushed in.
From calamity to catastrophe
pollies still are malingering;
unashamed, nonchalant
assenting to their ignorance
that climate change
is just pure myth.
Back to reality ..
the dawn disappears
finally, the sky has cast
its glorious daylight.
Morning coolness breathes
from fresh unminted dew...
Tells of Autumn,
it has come early too soon
and too good to be true.
