Puccini's fame in opus grande composition of Madame Butterfly took him five times to rewrite before it lifted off to earn the highest accolades performed by stellar Aria artists all over the world.

"Opera as an ultimate form of art", in my view, is a counterpoint to Poetry in alignment with its elements and tools used to define, design and develop the connectivity of expressions conveyed by the writer relatable to the audience, listeners and readers.

I purposely didn't do any background reading of Madame Butterfly because I want to feel the verve of the story through what I saw and heard from the performers on stage. And with the aid of digital and visual transcription, I was on track in following the story with profound amazement by the skills and talents involved in this massive production.

Madame Butterfly so far is nothing short of theatrics about love, loyalty, betrayal, sacrifice and tragedy; but, "in the end, love is the only thing that matters ..."

MERAKI is the apex of this sterling stage success, a denouement of Giacomo Puccini's "sweeping, uplifting, enchanting and intensely moving stories with music and stories combined" genius work.

Between love child's great mind and those
of our earth is a middle course,
A mid point hence the bridge be cast
from our side halfway mooring mast.

Within her mind’s a mystery
of intersecting unplumbed force
She reads the mind of sun and moon
and those which conduct seasons' course,

the manners of the stars and worlds,
their births, and deaths, and their returns.
That bipeds we be or some such,
let intellect light up and burn.

FOOTPRINTS IN THE SAND

One night I had a dream.  

I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord..

  Across the sky flashed scenes from my life.. 

For each scene,

I noticed two sets of  footprints in the sand, 

one belonging to me,

and the other to the Lord..

When the last scene of my life flashed before me, 

I looked back at the footprints in the sand. 

I noticed that many times along the path of my life 

there was only one set of footprints. 

I also noticed that it happened at the very lowest 

and saddest times in my life.

This really bothered me  and I questioned the Lord about it: "Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, 

you'd walk with me all the way. 

But I have noticed that

during the most  troublesome times in my life  

there is only one set of footprints. 

I don't understand why  when I need you most

you would leave me."

The Lord replied: 

"My precious child, I love you

and would never leave you.

 During your times of trial and suffering, 

when you see only one set of footprints,

it was then  that I carried you."

DESIDERATA

Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender be on good terms
