Everything Becomes Beautiful
by Rado Gatchalian
When a piece of joy
is written in too many possibilities —
even certainties become doubt
and fear becomes hope:
try to keep all those stories,
One day — when the night and day
become too close
that no one can see the difference
between summer and winter:
two places, and two souls, become one.
And everywhere we go:
we can no longer feel loneliness;
as man ponders a great lesson —
all of a sudden:
everything he knows is a dust in the wind;
But perhaps when everything is lost
and given to a power no one can hold:
only love and obedience
can give peace —
a warrior surrenders to the will —
A child becomes the willing star,
born from a gift given hundred years before;
and as he climbs every mountain:
to find the richness of the world —
he fails every attempt.
But as he travels back to a place called Home —
he finds under the tree in his garden of Eden
a poem that speaks the most eloquent lesson:
when you stop looking,
everything becomes beautiful.
