ODE TO MA'AM Leah Dancel

By Janet 🌹 Rose Licudo

Ode to ma'am Leah Dancel

At times, I feel alone and lost.
You are there as my comfort.
Every word from you
Offers warmth to my lonely heart.

God sent you to me.
At times I am needy.
Someone could understand me.
Someone could talk to me.

We shared the same passion.
We shared the same emotion.
I am glad I've known you.
I'm grateful to be your friend too.

Thank you ma'am for coming into my life.
Every word from you is so warm in my heart.
Every moment we talk, seems we known each other long time ago.
Wishing one day, we will meet together too.

Thank you for your hugs and warm thought.
Thank you for your love and sincere words.
I will cherish them forever.
You will always be in my heart and my prayers.

Thank you so much ma'am.God bless you always poπŸ™πŸ˜‡πŸ˜˜πŸ˜˜πŸ˜˜

The Great Invocation

By Yesu Ben

From the point of Light within the Mind of God
Let light stream forth into the minds of men.
Let Light descend on Earth.

From the point of Love within the Heart of God
Let love stream forth into the hearts of men.
May Christ return to Earth.

From the centre where the Will of God is known
Let purpose guide the little wills of men –
The purpose which the Masters know and serve.

From the centre which we call the race of men
Let the Plan of Love and Light work out
And may it seal the door where evil dwells.

Let Light and Love and Power restore the Plan on Earth.

Tribute

For Don Luman-ag who now must hurdle  a ravine so deep that he must summon all strength to get him through it.

i believe that Divine Will is above all other wills (even those of Babylonian Billionaires). Divine Will keeps the Universe moving and being and we are the Universe itself as we are its parts. What force is more powerful than one that can move planets, expand galaxies, make trees grow and make love touch every manifested or unmanifested being. Here is a poem, not written by me, but it has been a guiding light that's helped me grope through the myriads of hindrances, monkey wrenches, doubts, fears and more.

SEASONS of LOVE

By Jeffrey Cejero

Summer is showers of love in sunshine.
Autumn is epitome of love in red and gold.
Winter is glitters of love in a cold night.
Spring is wings of love that brings hope.

The sun shouts its radiance, shining the lands.
Birds are singing, flowers and trees are swaying.
Two hearts meet and bath in warm love.
Summer is showers of love in sunshine.

The sun begins to get colder, days are becoming shorter.
Sunset glows in spectacular hues, every leaf is a flower.
Two hearts madly in love, enjoying the vivid sight.
Autumn is epitome of love in red and gold.

Then the sun gives the shortest day, snow is everywhere.
The once warm love starts to get cold and bare.
Two hearts in love undergoing life challenges.
Winter is glitters of love in a cold night.

But the sun persists to shine, snow starts to melt.
Plants and grasses are showing life, animals are felt.
Two hearts deeply in love rising from the fall.
Spring is wings of love that brings hope.

FATHER TIME

By Don Luman-ag

Wealth and riches can't suspend
Man's lease on life they can't extend
Nor can prevent what's imminent
At the appointed time of death

All attempts are bound to fail
Apothecary shall prove futile
No amount of tincture or elixir
Can make the body live forever

Just like the law of gravity
We will all end up in a cavity
A hole six feet below the ground
Or in the hollow of an urn

Death is inevitable, that's for sure
It's something none could ever cure
So let us live our life with passion
Before we fade into oblivion

BY HIS WILL by Rumi

By Rumi

Only by His will do atoms move
The beat of every wing He must approve

No on can explain this and none should try
The infinite can never answer 'why?'

Even though we strive to know 'how?'
Through science, before Him we have to bow

And give ourselves, our lives and will to God
With no thought of a blessing or reward

In these our lives, my friend, nor in the next
Does this simple truth leave your mind perplexed?

Then know that contentment is part of bliss
Don't ask for love, and yet accept a kiss.

O Sufi, do not long for paradise
Be content with His love, this earth, these skies.

FORTY DAYS

By Yesu Ben

(thank you for this post. Here is my response: to Meditate and Pray by L C. Dance)

40 Days
YB

The clayish ground has become silvery
From damp to dry as weeds turn yellow brown.
Abandoned yet adorn by glimmery
of shining bits of sand strewn all around
and remnant bones. This ship that sparkles rife
stands like fire as brilliant as midday,
as if it ruled the dunes and winds above.
No spirit, scholarly nor low of life,
whose sense is neither lost nor gone astray,
would seek out here his solitude and love.

Except for one, a foolish seeker, old
Or older than the goddesses of Time,
In tattered rags that dazzle like pure gold,
Would touch with fingers joyful and sublime
The stubbly grains of this sanctuary’s earth,
This harbor for time’s wearied travellers
Tired of the endless bickering and race
To reach the empty mountain tops from birth;
A race to last till death, and crueler
Than being tortured and spat on the face.

Yet in the midst of hell upon her earth
Shall rise the monument of her advice
And round her torso is the bloodied girth,
And crown of thorns to mute her many sighs:
The steps to her Golgotha, lessons learned,
The lashes on her back, benevolence.
And from her side shall drip out clemency,
As tears from both her eyes, her deep concern
For this persistent protracted weariness,
Thirsting for faith in man’s humanity.

REMEMBERING YOU

By Estelle Cortes

You spent nine decades
On this mortal realm,
Created a family,
And held your first great grandson.
Today is your mortal birthday,
But you are beyond that,
Time, who was first a friend,
Then a foe in the end,
Became a witness
Of who you were
And what you've done.
Today would have been
Your 92nd mortal year,
But you have moved on
Far beyond our reach.
Still I breathe your presence,
I keep the memories,
I carry you both with Mama
In my DNA.

Remembering You,
~Estelle~

HE IS GONE

By Yesu Ben

(i miss my Tatay. You made me cry just now.) Poem reply to Remembering You by Estelle Cortes

your pen oft dances to a diffrent tune
Refreshing in these clichΓ© times
That I find myself in strange commune
With Tatay, though he rests is a far clime.

Those unknown cardboard houses painted green
Of tear-thinned swatches not quite blue
An aura tainted by something between
Now and tomorrow’s strange and faded hues.

I still talk to him although he is gone
When i climb hills or slide down soft ravines
He is where this earth's cruelty and claws
remaining  in my DNA (nakaw) and genes. .

MEDITATE and PRAY

 πŸ™———-πŸ™

In overcoming darkness...
We need the bright beams
 Coming from above...
 To light our path.

When things do not seem looking right
Find a place where your heart feels light.
Away from confusion and deceit.
And shun the devil's devious entreat.

Sometimes in life we plunge into the pit
Of human tragic snare - we're too busy
To care to mind our feet caught in the net ...
We tend to get blind all along the way.

The harsh water of reality
Do test our strength and faith
Which time imperils our sanity
Its fluidity sets ...

Seek the sun to brighten your day
Detach from the hem of darkness
Conquer the roaring enemies
In silence,  meditate and pray.

"God will take care of you."

SPRINGTIME FAIR

My Old Treasure Chest... revisited and gave it a bit of trimming....

The zephyr in the lithe morn of Spring
Feels like an Angel kissing my face;
I'm glad it's not the chill of winter's day
Which seemly drags and lingers on.

The soft touch of a morning light
In my soul is like a tender embrace;
Its beams gently glimmer through the sky
Purging the gossamer of wispy clouds.

Beneath the heaven - all is still
As the songbird flits and glide in the air;
Relinquishing the springtime thrill
To the crooning bees in the garden fair.

A mail has arrived today
A late present for my birthday
I opened it up with so much glee
Thinking what this could be
Oh! It's an album made especially for me.

I saw the cover, lovely fotos I see
I turned the first page, a beautiful foto of my daughter & me.

This album contains my favourite fotos with my grandkids most specially. Happy memories with family.
It is so meaningful
I am so thankful
A gift I will always treasure
A sweet surprise indeed.

Thank you Deanna Isaiah & Havana

EXOTIC BLEND

By Leah C. Dancel

EUREKA:

Supple and youthful look,
a blend of beauty and brains.
A fine gem found beneath the earth
An angelic lustre in firmament illumines.

Soft and sweet -
a sculpt chiselled chin contour;
A rosy countenance of love
and compassion.
The doe eyed endowment
speaks of passion
A subtle glow of a gentle soul allure.

They must have touched
a multitude
of human hearts.
That breadth of wisdom,
a temple of sense and judgement;
Let alone a niche of acumen and discernment -
Helping the needy with heart, mind and soul.

In service dedicated
and true to a calling;
As thousand words unspoken by pursed lips too dainty to utter.

First and foremost, a woman
Then a wife to a man;
A daughter to a mother -
a mother to a daughter.

A friend to lean on,
a devoted servant to all.

With beauty enthralling,
An epitome of exotic blend.

LOVE IS LIKE A KINDLING FIRE

By Leah C. Dancel

Love lives in my heart for you my dear.
It's burning like a kindling fire
in the night;
Thinking of our happy times together
That gives assuage to my cold lonely nights.

The rose you planted in my heart
Has green leafy buds growing too.
Watered by the rain that came falling from your eyes
It blooms anew and fresh as the morning dew.

The gloom that you felt in the past
was only a foreboding not meant to last.
For nobody has ever dared to take your place;
My heart wants nothing but you, in my solitary space.

The room we built together,
gave way to our tender love.
It's a fragrant nest of our sweet moments,
I hold sacred like a solemn vow.

THE GREATER LOVE

By Rado Gatchalian

Over the hills, I shall no longer
See the face of the devil.
Whether I stay behind,
The songs of the forest
Linger in me like my own soul.
Why should I stop the journey
Even it seems the world is about to end?
Life is traveling so fast
Every moment becomes a past.

To whom shall I give my love?
Beyond that solitary clouds,
Shall I gaze the beauty of today?
When the night comes
And in my prayer:
Greater love is to endure pain,
Every child becomes a man.

Tomorrow, when the world
Measures the strength of my character:
I shall forever obey and resist
The search for happiness.
Like a river:
Listen to the flow —
And I become ripples
Where the beginning meets the end.

AUM

By Yesu Ben

Forever soars the deep blue sky into the deep blue sea;
They kiss and merge and kiss again in soft serenity,
I cannot hear their moaning voices from this distant hill,
Oh eager waves, be silent now, if you cannot be still.
At fifteen miles, the green is blue and blue is green today,
Transformed, the sky's become a vast unbroken silver grey,
The wind blows gently, oh so gently clear in seamless lines,
The sun with brush paints over streaks that boundaries define;
The vast expanse of deep blue green does not breathe, does not stir
Absorbing and reabsorbing earth in its breathtaking blur.
Which turns this harmony of sea and sky into one cell,
Interned we therefore seek release from life’s eternal spell.

Now underneath the earth, there crawls the hidden hand of God
Revealing what’s behind the mask, this glamorous faΓ§ade,
Uprooting trees and coverings that we’ve come to accept;
The birthing of a bigger soul, while we opposed and wept.
But when we’ve gathered Faith again, the sun and sky’s embrace,
With storms and failings, tears and fears, the victories, God’s grace,
Our clarity’s regained and awed at perfect cruelty,
A pinch against sleepy skin and uncertain jollity,
A squeeze to waken weary mind, the middle course of life
That lies between that world and ours; home to our inner strife.
Is our vision good enough to comprehend this force?
These little joys, and pains, they tell us of the inner source.

And rounding slaughter, God, this weary little pilgrim child
When He comes finally to free what’s hiding deep inside,
And then respect and love are earned, the little child’s no more
A young man soon will play another game beyond the door.
But on his own, these treasures do not cost a single cent
Although that’s all he’d hoped for through the years and now he’s bent.
This inner Law, God’s grace, bestowed upon the human race
Have benefitted him and always have been near his face.
What hovers up above is also He that’s underneath;
Now lay your weary garment down and cover it with wreath.
For on the third day shall ye rise, and heaven shall ye reach
But to set forth the many laws requires a lengthy speech.

MY TRUTH, MY PASSION

By Estelle Cortes

None but a handful could understand
Why I often go back,
to the bosom of my beloved mountains,
Where the trees grow thick,
On its mossy grounds,
Where a cacophony of
Birds chirping and cicadas singing,
Where owls hoot at night,
And frogs croak even at daytime,
Where streams flow dreamily
To where rivers run,
Often ending into waterfalls,
Where the sun could glimpse,
Creating rainbows as the waters
Splash and dance.

Up there I embrace-
My truth, my passion
And the fears I hide inside,
Out there I get lost, willingly cry,
Howl my lament to the Moon at night.
Out there I've died many times,
But like my beloved Trees,
Experienced rebirth in countless ways,
In countless times.

The Trees will always listen,
The creatures there
Will never judge me,
The grounds will accept
Each tear that fall,
The rivers shall cleanse me,
And the waterfalls refresh my Soul.

BLUE THING

By Percy Roxas

I see you, just today
a lonely blue thing on my way
I stopped to check out: watched you play
without the wind to make your day.

I saw you there just now
and thought I'd join you in that bough
you seem to say yes with that bow,
I do not have to arch my brow.

I see you yes; I saw -- it's me
Perhaps I'm just as lonely as can be
a blue thing, smiling, cute and free
but inside something longs to flee!

I THINK OF YOU

By Crispina Vedra-Diego
Happy birthday Diegs!!

In the morning when I see the rising sun,I think of you
In the daytime when I hear the singing bird,I think of you.
In the noontime when I taste the best menu,I think of you.
In the dawn time when I feel the cooling breeze,I think of you.
In the evening when I say my prayer,I think of you
In the bedtime when I retire to rest ,I think of you.

GOD, be my RESTING PLACE and MY PROTECTION
In hours of trouble, defeat, and dejection...
May I never give way to self-pity and sorrow,
May I always be sure of a better tomorrow,
May I stand undaunted come what may
Secure in the knowledge I have only to pray
And ask MY CREATOR and FATHER ABOVE
To keep me serene in HIS GRACE and HIS LOVE!

A SMILE AFTER A CRYING BOUT

By Myr Reyes E. Tejada

I believe that there never has been
A smile sweeter and more alluring
Than one flashed after a crying bout
Everyone would agree without a doubt
Its charm is that of the rain in spring
With a rainbow in the sky appearing.

A timid smile after a tearful burst
Is the sun peeping through nimbus clouds
Traces of tears shimmer like diamonds
Misty eyes soft and tender as the dawn
They glisten like the dewy leaves in the morn
Could melt any man’s heart of stone.

Lips gently trembling a little bit
Displaying a shadow of pearly teeth
A hint of dimples adorns both cheeks
Flashing on and off like twin secrets
Cheeks tinged in a blush of radiant pink
I can’t do justice to such beauty with my ink.

I MISS THE CITY

It's been so long I haven't been to the city.
I miss the tram ride,  I miss the shopping spree.
I miss my gallivanting days, and my touring duties.
I miss my walkabouts, and  jaywalking around the  roundabouts.
I miss my daytime adventures
to museums, parks and the  harbour.
I miss stopping by at the library and  sneaking in the gallery.
I miss my wanderings in the gardens and strolling around the Opera House
I miss the train ride, the bus ride and the ferry ride.
I miss going out to enjoy the fun out in the glowing sun.
I miss my random and spontaneous gaiety.
I miss the food I crave in a  fancy restaurant and in my favourite cafe.
City is life. So is beach and ambling  by the sea.

CHOOSING THE RIGHT WORDS

By Jeffrey Cejero

A poem is a rainbow painted in the sky
With its colorful smile hanging up high.

Like fire, a poem is warm and shining.
Like a firefly that's glowing in the evening.

A poem is made from thousands of bees,
Sweetest words of honey buzzing in trees.

Its words are as fragrant as the wildflowers
Where birds are singing and cascading in showers.
…..

A poem connects all the spaces
Unifying the universe in all places.

It has the power traversing time
Connecting any point in rhyme.

A poem is as many as the twinkling stars,
As mysterious as the glorious red Mars.

Its words are so powerful like the Big Bang
While the black hole fang starts to clang.
…..

Just like seasons, a poem should make you wonder to ponder,
Whizzing, whishing the autumn, winter, spring and summer.

A poem must be everyone’s favorite chocolate.
Dripping, dropping, drinking in a faucet.

A poem is the best medicine that cures a heart in pain.
Anyone can be healed that even science can’t explain.

To write a poem, one must choose the right words.
It's a golden rule in all poetry worlds.

IT WAS LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT

A Tribute To JV and Myra

On Our Wedding Day
August 30, 2014

Ours was a collegiate romance.
At the school library where it all begun.

We came out fresh from high school;
Our dreams were full of anticipations.
We set our goals towards the future;
We're determined to attain success
or face a failure.

Hard at work and studies in mind;
We knew nothing about the cupid's sign.

Until one day at the library,
Myra and I were destined to meet.
And there, our fate was sealed.

Myra, in fact, was my classmate
She's nice and kind;
Demure, petite and sweet.
While I was the quiet and shy type;
A gentleman by and large, a good guy.

It was love at first sight
That drew us close together
after our first meeting.
It grew and blossomed into
a beautiful friendship.
We cultivated tenderness
and nurtured  trust
for each other.
For seven years we remained steady
and committed sweethearts;
A relationship unscathed.
Surreal to speak, we kept
composed, cool and disciplined.

We believed that there's a high force
who guides us...
Back in the days of courtship,
We're under the radar of my future in-laws and mine.
Myra's Dad had always been my buddy.
Her Mom was as affectionate and motherly.
I knew I was a medium in a petri dish of their loving surveillance.
In the end, I found favour in their watchful eyes.
I won their hearts
After seven long years of building
a symbiotic rapport with them all.

Destiny would play a big part
in our lives together.
We're blessed with a blissful marriage
With Liam and Klint as the testimony
Of our strong commitment for each other.
Our children are the best things that ever happened in our lives.

The vow we pledged didn't go for naught.
Our love will stay, seven years
and more ...
beyond...
The cord that binds us
will hold us stronger
in years to come.
Our faith will keep us anew
for times till eternity.

IN OUR SONG

By Dimple Lobo Corcino Opina

Every line, every word that the singer sings,
Brings me back to the past when you lived your life,
It hurts so much not to forget to remember,
The times when we're together even for a short while.

All treasured pictures hanging on the walls,
In the four corners of our small abode,
Is where I spent my longings for your love,
A place which your laughter I painted with tears in my eyes.

Some days I wake up with feelings of despair,
As I saw you in every frame of my now -broken dreams,
I'm a lost soul wondering why I'm still here,
Knowing that when you're gone is the end of everything.

Every moment I listen to the song we used to sing,
I find comfort to swallow all the pain of hurting,
Although it hurts to keep the songs playing,
I find solace in every lyric I'm hearing.

FAMILY IS HOME

By Don Luman-ag

Happiest birthday Ma'am Norma Culhi! πŸŽ‰ Here's another poem I specially wrote for you.πŸ’“

We cannot choose our family
Nor choose where to be born
Is it some kind of destiny?
Or just completely random?

But regardless how you see it
One thing shall stay forever true
Your genealogy you cannot edit
Whether or not it pleases you

Family is a place that nurtures
And loves us without conditions
Gives us comfort and protection
It's the place that we call home

We should be proud and grateful
Because families are wonderful
Love them back for all the love
Not all men were blessed to have
