OF DAWNS AND DUSKS
What would life be if dawn won’t come
To vanquish the darkness all around
With the promise of a vibrant rainbow
That will grace the day, with gifts bestow
A new lease on life for me and you.
Rage of night storms wanes with the dawn
Light of hope shines with its breaking boon
Better chances follow the sunrise
Opportunities knock as we rise
Chasing all our dreams of the night.
What would I do without the dusk
A respite from the day’s grinding tasks
Breather from the never-ending toil
My moment to recharge, refuel
The day’s events to count, store, recall.
Dusk’s a prelude to the gift of night
Blessing for my worn- out heart and soul
On the wings of sleep I take a flight
Forget the things I can’t control
Be back at dawn renewed and whole.
