Before The Tears Start To Fall
I once overheard someone say
Sometimes love is not enough
With a crack in her voice
With misty moistened eyes.
I had to walked away at once
With hurried hasty footsteps
To as far as I can no longer hear her
Before another word could form from her lips
And tears start to roll down her face.
Before some final words that once were said
In the dimming darkening daylight
Intrude into my mind as they often do
And blow open the bottled pain I kept inside.
Before people stare at me and wonder
Why my walk was starting to wobble.
Before the image of one who walked away
Could form in my mind
And tears start to roll down my face.
