We rode a whirlwind of kids and change
With hardly time to catch a breath
Ere time was spinning round again
And loved ones fell to age and death
In disbelief we ask ourselves
"How did minutes turn to years?"
Years exhaled past trembling lips,
Years of joyful days and tears.
Let's stop the rush and linger here
Within this autumn of our lives
Enjoying colors that remain,
Forging paths where love survives.
My precious wife, my valentine,
Your smile still brightens any room
Your eyes still shine their lovely blue
And I am blessed to be your groom!
In spite of foibles, yours and mine,
I don't want to breathe without you
I don't want to find out if I could
Live any kind of life without you.
I love you,
Happy Valentine's Day
